Introduction

  • When beginning to analyze my visual communication skills I have realized that I am primarily an analytical thinker. Generally I do use visual aids to emphasize what makes the most sense in my head with little risk. Because I continued through my journey I realized that everything does not have to make sense. That was my hardest challenge.

  • The artifacts that reflect my growth almost are the dragon Journal entry and the journal entry on the three tragedies. Was my second journal entry ever and I had no idea what I was doing. To keep it simple I traced a drawing with no thought. or at least that was my mindset. Later in the tragedy entry I made a cognitive effort to use shading, freehand drawing, imitation, interpretation in the combination of drawing tools. While my pictures were still simple the journey to the result is it what stood out and was memorable.

  • The readings that have had the most impact on my visual communication skills we're mostly from Lynda Barry's Syllabus the idea of why does everyone hate crayons and the idea of releasing expectations and just drawing is what I needed. My main obstacle was myself and my mindset and those readings forced me to have fun with drawing.

  • These are some of my artifacts that can show you my journey.
